Emily McMahon is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Performing Arts Entrepreneurship. Every event is a performance, so she is in her comfort zone when organizing events! During college, she held marketing & events internships at The Englert, Riverside Theatre, and Summer of the Arts; as well as serving/bartending in restaurants. 

For six years after college, Emily worked in hospitality as a senior catering sales manager for multiple hotel properties. She planned and managed weddings, social events, corporate functions, hotel room blocks, conferences, and many other celebrations. She earned her Certified Wedding Planner accreditation and is a recipient of the Corridor Business Journal’s ‘Forty Under 40 award. She has been the owner, lead designer, and planner of Soirée Wedding Planning since 2014. Emily has grown the company over the past ten+ years and now leads a strong team of seven other event planning professionals. Soirée Wedding Planning designs and executes 45-50 events per year. 

Emily has been an instructor and featured speaker for many courses for the University of Iowa Event Management program since 2017. Her calling in life is organization & project management, but her passion is helping people, especially planning weddings or other events. She seriously loves what she creates and can’t imagine doing anything else! You'll catch her tearing up at every wedding or event she plans
