One Day for Iowa is an annual day of fundraising when Hawkeyes and friends are invited to give back to their favorite programs. It’s the largest fundraiser of the year for the Event Management Certificate and this year we broke records with an incredible level of student engagement and support from alumni and friends of the program. 

Alumna Kristen Schlawin and May 2026 graduate Payton Geake both chose to donate this year. 

“I wanted to give back to a program that gave me amazing opportunities when I was a student,” Schlawin said. 

Geake said she’s grateful that donors chose the certificate. 

“Support for the Event Management Certificate makes transformative, hands-on experiences possible, empowering students to build connections, gain confidence, and step into their careers prepared and inspired, “ she said.
