Each semester, students plan and execute their own events for local clients. Here is a snapshot of a few events students completed this semester:
Houses into Homes
This semester, students unleashed their creativity in our workshop class where they planned an event for Houses into Homes and upcycled furniture, transforming old pieces into stunning designs.
Lost & Found
In partnership with Investigate Midwest, students in our workshop class organized an engaging live storytelling event, showcasing their event planning skills while highlighting powerful, thought-provoking narratives.
Internship Networking Event
This semester, our program hosted an networking event, bringing together businesses from across Iowa City seeking spring and summer interns to connect with our talented students and explore exciting internship opportunities.
December Graduates Celebration
We celebrated our December graduates with a festive party, complete with pizza, cupcakes, a surprise visit from Herky, and a special recognition of Rosanne Hopson for the inaugural Rosanne Hopson IMPACT Award.
Charlie Brown Christmas
Students organized a Charlie Brown Christmas to celebrate the season at Walker Homestead. There was live music, food, drinks, and many activities to participate in during the night.
Hawk the Vote Watch Party
In coordination with the student organization, Hawk the Vote, students organized a nonpartisan election night watch party. The event had live election coverage, free food, and chances to win prizes.
